| It was time to upgrade Lydia's daily driver and get a more capable tow vehicle at the same time. I closely followed the engineering developments from Porsche of their new Cayenne SUV, and was impressed with what I had been reading for the past year. Seeing it in person, and then test driving it convinced us that it was the right replacement for our Mercedes ML430. Testing the Cayenne at the Porsche Cayenne Experience in Ft. Lauderdale a couple weekends ago was all the convincing we needed. We picked up our silver/black 2004 Cayenne Twin Turbo at the dealership the day after the Cayenne Experience weekend. The Porsche Cayenne Twin Turbo has a 4.5 liter V8 engine, pushing 450 horsepower with 460 lb-feet of torque and is capable of towing up to 7700lbs. Towing is effortless and extremely responsive (and safer than the Mercedes ML430 was!). |
